Remember 04:33

about

Ahead of his debut artist album ("When People Become Numbers"), eleven.five triumphantly presents the lead single, "Remember," featuring the rapturous vocals of Arielle Maren. As a hint of the eclectic sounds to be discovered on the album as a whole, "Remember" is somewhere on the alt-electronic spectrum, with echoes of 90s trip hop.

The song kicks off with a full vocal solo from Arielle, who appears on our imprint for the first time since "Sweet Surrender," her hit collaboration with Vintage & Morelli from earlier this year. Captivating listeners with a voice that is not only angelic, but soulful, Arielle offers an extraordinary opening verse. The narrative centers on a person in the midst of an identity crisis; Arielle's lyrics capture the struggle, as well as "the way back home" to one's true self. Accompanying Arielle's verse and subsequent interlude, eleven.five's instrumental begins to crescendo, as an inspired chord sequence, floating above an edgy (and resonant) bassline, is patiently filtered into the mix. By the time Arielle's breathtaking chorus has been revealed, the listener has already been fully immersed into a soundscape that is at once uplifting, sensitive, fragile, and profound. The radiant themes in the climax of the arrangement suggest that our protagonist has regained his identity and existential sense of purpose.
